Re: the WPS COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan
We can be proud everyone in the WPS school family is committed to giving our students the best possible education in a safe and secure environment. This is the Wildcat way.
As required by Governor Whitmer, every school district in Michigan submitted a comprehensive reopening plan to outline how instruction and safety procedures would be provided in light of COVID-19 precautions.
Our WPS Back-to-School/Instruction team has worked hard over the past few months. We have listened closely to students, parents, staff, and community members. Coming up with a plan which reflected the range of ideas and perspectives was important to us.
The plan we submitted to the State (the link to the document is below) shows what we will do – and ask students and parents to do – to help us keep our students safe while giving them the greatest possible freedom in their learning structure.
I ask for your support and patience in carrying out this plan – and I also ask you to be flexible if we need to make tweaks and updates in the future. There are many factors outside our control, as you know, but this doesn’t mean we can’t rise to do our best to overcome them. Good communications will be key!
The goal is simple.
We want the 2020-2021 School Year to be a great one for our students, our staff, our parents, and YOU.

Thank you for supporting our students, staff, and Walkerville Public Schools.
Go Wildcats!
