Board trustees and I heard good news on multiple fronts at our November meeting.
• We will be rolling out a new website after Thanksgiving. We are excited to be a part of a school communications pilot designed by Tom Page and his School Communicators Network.
• We heard more about the concept to repurpose our old elementary building in ways that could benefit our community. A member of the committee exploring this presented ideas which include before and after-school day care, medical use, and other community group participation.
• The annual audit of our district’s finances was presented and Sandy Oomen (business manager) was praised for ensuring our accounting procedures didn’t contain any issues that concerned the auditors.
• The Board also discussed Superintendent Evaluation training, with the decision to contract the Michigan Association of School Boards for assistance in this area.
