Ben Van Wyk is dedicated to seeing his students become successful. He is the high school Social Studies and English teacher at Walkerville. Ben joined Walkerville in the spring of 2014 and he values the small district. “The staff gets to know all the students well and the students don’t slip through the cracks and get ignored.” One thing he loves most about his students is their enthusiasm. “When they care about something, they go all in!” Ben is passionate about reading and loves to sit down with a really good book. As a child, his favorite book was The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. Back when Ben was a high school student his favorite song was “Paradise City” by Guns N’ Roses. His cross country team would warm-up to it playing on the boombox! Ben graduated from High Point Regional High School in Wantage, NJ.
