Filling Buckets with Kindness in the Explore Zone

Students in 1st–2nd grade and 4th–5th grade took the Explore Zone outside this week for a sidewalk chalk activity focused on “filling your bucket.”

The idea is simple: everyone carries an invisible “bucket” that holds positive feelings. Kind words, helpful actions, and encouragement can help fill someone else’s bucket, while also filling your own.

Students put that message into action by creating colorful chalk drawings and positive messages outside the school entrance, giving everyone who walked by a little extra encouragement.

It was a fun way to combine creativity, kindness, and an important social-emotional lesson — and a great reminder that small actions can make a big difference.
