Meet Mr. Scott Sherman – School Counselor

Scott was raised on a small farm in Fremont and graduated from FHS in 1991. He taught nine years in the Lansing area, then held principalships at Mason County Eastern and Ravenna before returning to lead his alma mater.

“I was ready to retire from school administration, but I still wanted to continue making positive connections with students,” said Scott, who holds a counseling credential along with his administration certifications. “I think this part-time position is a perfect match between my experience and skill set and the commitment Walkerville is making to excellence.”

Scott will be in our school to serve our K-12 Wildcats weekly, Monday through Thursday.

He uses his Fridays to help his 86-year-old widowed mother, Pat, continue to live independently.

Scott and his wife, Sara, have three sons and live in Fremont, about a 25-minute ride away.

The Shermans are all avid fishermen and enjoy collecting and trading sports cards. Scott’s pride and joy is the 1956 Jackie Robinson card in his collection.

“I’ve been warmly welcomed into the Wildcat school family, and I couldn’t be more excited to be here and start meeting students, parents, and staff,” he said. “Everyone here is all about doing what’s best for kids and their future success.”

The Wildcats welcome you, Scott!
